Caroline Holmes – Garden Historian & Botanical Storyteller
- Garden historian, lecturer, broadcaster Caroline Holmes is a British garden historian known for her engaging, non‑academic style. She has lectured globally on every continent except Antarctica, bringing gardens to life through stories of people, plants, art, and architecture.
- Author of 12 treasured books , her works explore diverse garden themes—from herb gardening to Victorian follies and Impressionist landscapes. Titles include Icons of Garden Design, Victorian Gardens, Impressionists in Their Gardens, Monet at Giverny, and The RHS Herbs for the Gourmet Gardener.

Holmes has planned several unique garden projects:
- The Poison Garden at Alnwick
- Renaissance-inspired planting at Notre Dame de Calais
- Operatic borders at the Royal Opera House’s High House . She combines historical insight with creative flair.
- She is course director and academic tutor at the University of Cambridge’s Institute of Continuing Education (ICE), overseeing international summer programmes and virtual learning festivals. She also lectures widely for The Arts Society and the Royal Horticultural Society.
